ProteinClarity is a food and weight logging tool. This policy covers what we store and why, in plain language.
What we store
Your account details (email, password hash, display name, timezone), the targets you set (protein floor, calorie goal, body weight), the food, weight, and day-summary entries you log, your Telegram username and chat id once you link our bot, usage counters, support messages, and billing identifiers. Your log is yours alone: no other member can ever see it, and we don’t sell it or advertise to you.
The public website counts anonymous page views and button taps (plain counters with no visitor identifiers) so we can see where people get stuck.
How food logs are processed
When you send food text or photos, the service may send that content to a third-party processing provider (OpenAI) to estimate calories, protein, and optional carbs and fat. Exact nutrition facts you provide are kept as the source of truth, and well-known chain items are matched against a built-in verified menu catalog instead of being estimated. Estimates can be wrong, and entries can be corrected in the chat.
Connected services
Telegram is used for chat-based logging. Stripe handles checkout, subscription status, invoices, and payment details. Resend may deliver account, reset, verification, receipt, and recap emails. Hosting and DNS providers may process standard server logs needed to operate and secure the service.
Cookies and security
The web app uses an HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in and security tokens to protect account actions. API keys and payment secrets are stored server-side, not in the browser.
Analytics
We may use Google Analytics on the public website to measure traffic. When enabled it sets analytics cookies and shares limited usage data, including your IP address and the pages you view, with Google. You can opt out with your browser’s controls, an ad blocker, or Google’s opt-out add-on. There is no analytics tracking inside the Telegram bot.
Your controls
You can export your data or delete your account from settings. Deletion scrubs your whole ledger - entries, weigh-ins, Telegram links, and pending tokens - then disables login and revokes active sessions. Billing, security, abuse-prevention, support, or legal records may be retained only when needed to operate the service and meet provider obligations.
Limits
ProteinClarity is not a medical record and does not provide medical advice. Do not use the service for emergencies, medical diagnosis, medication decisions, or treatment decisions, and please don’t send it health-condition information beyond what you choose to log. The service is not intended for children under 13. We do not sell personal data.
